COMMUNITY IMPACT
OUTREACH EVENTS &SERVICES.
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
-Matthew 25:35-40 NIV
FOOD DISTRIBUTION
On a weekly basis one or more groups/churches are loaded with food and launched into the community. These volunteers go door-to-door in some of the most impoverished areas delivering food assistance, hope and prayer.
Due to COVID precautions we also have drive thru distribution sites available in Cathedral City at Northgate Chruch and Thousand Palms at Desert Christian Community Church.
Emergency Food Assistance also available at The Narrow Door address the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9am-11am.
HOMELESS PREVENTION AND RELIEF
The Narrow Door's ReFuel Truck is the Coachella Valley and Riverside County's first and only licensed catering truck specifically equipped for homeless outreach. The vehicle is designed to maintain safe food handling temperatures in order to reduce the risk of food borne illnesses occurring while serving. It also is filled with clothing, hygiene items, an emergency medical kit supplied by Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine and helpful resource information.
COMMUNITY OUTREACHES
Outreach is a way to bridge the gap between the resource and the need. It is also an effective way to create connections and establish relationships within a community. The Narrow Door with the support of our partner churches and agencies hosts an annual Thanksgiving Outreach and The Coachella Valley Christmas Store that benefits thousands of people throughout the Coachella Valley each year.
We have also hosted Back to School events, Summer Lunch Programs for children, Easter events and community bible studies in the park.
COLLABORATIVE SERVICES
We acknowledge the importance of us all working together to achieve positive change within our community. This is why The Narrow Door networks with local non-profits, government agencies, churches and businesses on a regular basis. The Narrow Door on its own can only do so much, but together the resources are endless.
We are constantly seeking out new partnerships. If you are interested in joining our list of partner agencies, let us know!
DISCIPLESHIP
Our team and leaders share the gospel with all who are open to receiving it. Through our actions and examples believers new and old are shown how to walk with Christ, pray and grow in their relationship with God on a daily basis as we serve alongside one another in His name.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
-Matthew 5:14-16 ESV
INTERNSHIPS
We accept internships!
Our team appreciates an intern's willingness to learn and grow from their experiences with us at The Narrow Door.
During an internship at The Narrow Door individuals are instructed on how to identify issues within the community and network with local resources to make a difference. Email Info@TheNarrowDoor.org if you are interested in interning as part of our team!
